Charles H. Peck was North America's foremost mycologist and his reports are the definitive work on mushrooms. This is the second edition of the 1894 report with descriptions and 43 chromolithographed plates, plus one uncolored plate of edible, poisonous and "unwholesome" fungi. The colored plates are beautifully drawn with various states of each mushroom on each sheet. Peck (1833-1917) made an outstanding contribution to the study of mycology with his series of annual reports 1867-1908. Hardbound in original deep olive cloth with gilt titles and handsome stamped Seal of the State of New York in white and gold. Contains 236 pages of text, index and 44 plates.
