Lovely map of the Russian Empire with a fair amount of detail and decorated with a large rococo title cartouche. An ambiguous coastline appears in the region of Alaska with the notation that it is Land seen by Mr. Tshirikow in 1741. Additional conjectural cartography includes Hokkaido (Jeso I.), Sakhalin (which is split into two islands), and the Kuril Islands (which include several oversized islands).
