A handsome map of the Mediterranean islands, the larger map depicting Crete and three smaller maps of Corsica, the Ionian Islands, and Sardinia. Ortelius compiled the map from both classical and contemporary sources, including Strabo and Plinius. Strapwork cartouches, a ship and sea monsters ornament the map. Latin text on verso.

A sharp impression on a clean, bright sheet with professional repairs to three marginal tears, two of which enter 1.5" into the image at bottom.
