An early example of Ortelius' map of ancient Romania and Bulgaria compiled from the works of Dionos, Stephanus, Horatius, Suidas, Flavius Vopiscus, Plinius and Strabo. The route of the Danube is noted to the Black Sea. The map is decorative with fully engraved seas and a trio of large cartouches. English text on verso, published in 1606.

Full contemporary color on watermarked paper with a few faint spots and two tiny wormholes in the lower blank margin that have been professionally infilled.
