This map features a simple compass rose, and names several notable landmarks such as Moro Fort, Yelha Fort and St. Francisco. There is a decorative cartouche in the lower left corner that shows a pair of native inhabitants in fancy costume. This map was first published by Pierre Mortier in Les Forces de l'Europe et Amerique in 1702, and then reappeared in Van der Aa's La Galerie Agreable du Monde with the plate number at bottom right erased.

References: Cueto #155.

Condition: A

A crisp impression on wide-margined paper with the watermarks of a fleur-de-lis and the letters "IV." There is one tiny hole at the base of the title cartouche and light, scattered foxing that is mostly confined to the blank margins.
