This detailed plan was issued in the January 1789 edition of Political Magazine and depicts the seat of the Austro-Turkish War (1788-1791). It shows the fortified city of Belgrade at the confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers, along with the fortified town of Semlin to its north. A key at right locates 14 important locations in Belgrade including the palace, powder magazine, barracks, and numerous gates. The map is shaded to indicate areas under the control of Austria (north of the Danube and west of the Sava) and Turkey (areas to the south).
