"[Facsimile] Mercator-Hondius-Janssonius Atlas or a Geographicke Description of the World", Mercator/Hondius

This two-volume facsimile atlas reproduces the only edition of the Mercator/Hondius atlas with English text. Originally published in Amsterdam in 1636, the atlas included more maps than any previous edition as well as updated plates. The facsimile atlas includes an in-depth bibliographical note by R.A. Skelton. There are 197 double-page maps, all in black & white, some of them folding. Limited edition, one of only 800 copies printed. Fourth Series, Volume Two of "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum; Series of Atlases in Facsimile."The first volume has 404 pp., the second volume 500 pp. Folio, hardbound in maroon linen with gilt insignia on front covers and gilt and black title on spines, with dust jackets.
