This striking map of the Persian Empire includes present-day Iran, Iraq, Armenia, Georgia, Afghanistan, and part of Pakistan. Two large pictorial cartouches graphically depict the cultural attainments of the empire. The map is filled with detail of towns, mountains, forests, caravan routes, and a quaint village scene is pictured in the Turkistan region.

A nice impression on a watermarked sheet with a couple printer's creases at top right and minor printer's ink residue along the platemark.
