"Regni Daniae Accuratissima Delineatio", Jansson, Jan

This is a very decorative map of Denmark and southern Sweden. It has elaborate cartouches, scale of miles, coat-of-arms, a compass rose, ships at sea and elegant calligraphy. The title cartouche is flanked by two Danes, and putti adorn the distance scale and a dedication cartouche. Spanish text on verso, published between 1653-66.

Condition: B

A crisp impression with light soiling, and the bottom margin has been trimmed, with loss of the neatline. There are archival repairs to a number of separations along the centerfold and short tears, both within the image and in the blank margins. Despite these imperfections, the map presents itself well.
