This scarce road atlas was issued by the Metropolitan Automobile Association of California with maps by Rand McNally. It includes 25 detailed double-page and 11 single-page maps of states west of the Mississippi along with half-page maps of 16 large cities. The atlas also features single-page maps of Yellowstone and Glacier national parks. Each map shows the road network which is color-coded to a legend identifying its status (paved, graded, unimproved, etc). The Metropolitan Automobile Association of California was established in the 1920s apparently to compete with AAA. OCLC shows just 3 copies at the Newberry Library that houses the Rand McNally archive. Bound in red paper wrappers.

The maps are very good with uniform light toning. The pages are slightly dog-eared at bottom right. Paper wrappers have light wear with a chip to the bottom left corner of the back wrapper.
