This is a unique sheet with twelve views of forts on the west coast of Africa. The forts were built during the period of European colonization and the slave trade, including those of the Dutch, English and Danish. Views surround a central panel of French text, which contains descriptions of each of the forts.
Excellent impression on a bright sheet with a Strasburg Lily watermark and light toning along the edges of the sheet.
