Beautifully and boldly engraved copper plate map including eastern Turkey, the Caucasus, Israel through Iraq, with a part of Egypt. Bounded by the Black, Caspian and Mediterranean Seas and the Persian Gulf, the area extends south into the Arabian Desert and locates Cyprus, Baghdad, Damascus, Baku, and many more cities in the region. A notation at bottom left indicates that the map was intended for students. The title cartouche includes religious symbols, including the Tetragrammaton in a triangle, the Ark of the Covenant, and cherubs holding a cross and a stone tablet. Engraved by Marie F. Duval.
