Lovely little map of Lazio on Italy's central-west coast with the city of Rome shown at center near a depiction of Roman ruins. The map extends to include Lake Bolsena and continues down the coast to Gaeta. Good topographical detail, including forested areas. Fucine Lake, which was drained in 1875, is prominently depicted at right. Adorned with a lovely title cartouche and distance scale. German text on verso. This map is very rare as it only appeared in the last two editions of Jansson's Atlas Minor in 1648-51.

References: Van der Krogt (Vol. III) #7320:352.1.

Condition: B+

A nice impression with light, scattered foxing that is primarily confined to the blank margins.

Estimate: $120 - $150
