This is the first U.S. edition of this beautifully illustrated book. The author, Michael Alexander, has compiled an extensive collection of reproduced images from De Bry's Grand Voyages. The text that accompanied the images has been translated into English, and reflects De Bry's sympathetic opinions of the people he encountered during his time in the New World. 224 pp., London edition, printed by Chromoworks. Hardbound in laurel green cloth with gilt title on spine and a pictorial dust jacket.

Condition: B+

Contents are very good with minor toning along the pages' edges. Covers have slight shelf wear and light stains mostly concentrated along the bottom edge. Dust jacket is lightly sunned with minor shelf wear.
