This complete historical atlas includes numerous maps of the world and regional views on twelve sheets from ancient times, the Middle Ages, and the modern era. It includes two world maps on a Mercator Projection showing the extent of discoveries in 1491 and 1550, as well as a reprint of Ortelius' world map of 1587. Includes 4 pages of explanatory text. Published by Librairie Hachette in Paris. The maps are issued loose in a portfolio with four ribbon ties securing the stiff boards together.
The maps are very good with light toning and offsetting, and a few spots of foxing. The first title page is moderately toned. Covers have light wear and minor soiling.
