The southwestern part of Switzerland is the focus of this detailed map showing Geneva, Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchatel, Lake Biel, Bern, Freiburg, and Lake Thuner. It is decorated with a picture frame and garland title cartouche. This is Mercator's first map of the region, which was updated in 1636. German text on verso.

Condition: B+

A dark impression with a faint dampstain that just enters the border at top and minor soiling. A single worm track is confined to the bottom blank margin.
