This is a beautifully engraved early bird's-eye view of St. Augustine. It gives an excellent view of the fort and the tiny settlement with a large three-masted warship under full sail in the foreground, plus a smaller coastal sailing ship. The ribbon-style title cartouche floats above the scene. The page number 297 is at upper right, and French text is on the verso.

On watermarked paper with minor toning mostly confined to the blank margins and a rust spot in the bottom blank margin.
