This unusual Russian atlas, by A. Il'ina, contains 25 single-page and 10 double-page maps consisting of the world (6), Asia (3), Africa (2), Americas (6), and the balance focused on Europe/Russia (18). Of particular interest is a large double-page hemispheric map of the world with celestial charts in the top corners, several maps showing ocean currents, and a double-page geological map of Eurasia. Oblong, hardbound in black quarter leather over green cloth boards with gilt title on front cover and spine.
The maps are mostly very good with light scattered foxing, occasional color offsetting, and repairs to several short binding tears on verso. A few of the maps are loose, including the map of North America, and one of the folding maps of Russia has several small fold separations that have been repaired on verso with old tape. Covers and spine are worn with bumped edges.
