"[Lot of 55 - U.S.D.A. Soil Maps]", U.S.D.A.

Housed in two brown cloth cases with original string ties and gilt tilting, this complete set contains 55 large folding maps from both the 2nd and 3rd Report of the Field Operations of the Bureau of Soils, under the direction of Milton Whitney. Each of the maps has a legend identifying the various soil profiles which are overlaid on base maps provided by the Geological Survey. In addition to the soil types, the maps depict roads, railroads, cities and towns, county boundaries and topography via contour lines. Of particular interest are Phoenix, AZ., Cobb County (near Atlanta), GA., Boise, ID., and Ventura, CA. The full list of maps include:

Condition: B+

The maps are very good to near fine with attractive, bright coloring. There is pleasant light toning and occasional short fold separations. Cloth cases have light surface wear with Harvard ex-library bookplates on an interior panel.
