This is a handsome map covering Saxony and the surrounding region with great detail, centered approximately on Leipzig. The Elbe River flows northwest through the middle of the map, with Prague appearing just below the distance scale. It is embellished with a decorative title cartouche, legend in scroll-style cartouche, distance scales and a decorative border. Filled with place names each symbolized by a tiny castle. Latin text on verso.
References: Van den Broecke #93.
A crisp, early impression on a bright sheet of paper with Ortelius' common crossed arrows watermark, a faint damp stain at top, and light marginal soiling.
