This attractive woodblock map of Tokyo is surrounded by 32 vignettes of important buildings, places within the city, and scenes of Japanese life. Highly detailed, the map locates railroads, streets, and vast waterways in the downtown area. Locates the Imperial Palace, Ueno, Yoshiwara, Asakusa, Shintomiza, and Yasukuni shrines, Shinbashi station, and more. A detailed street index is located in the bottom left corner of the map. A compass rose in the bay indicates north is to the right. The map self-folds into tan paper wrappers (4.0 x 7.0"). A beautiful work of art and Japanese craftsmanship.
