An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three dimensional title box. Latin text on verso.

A crisp, early impression on paper with Ortelius' common crossed arrows watermark, two small worm holes in the bottom blank margin, and marginal soiling.
