The large strapwork cartouche contains text, and a coat of arms is displayed in the stipple engraved sea. Latin text on verso.

A crisp, early impression on paper with Ortelius' common crossed arrows watermark. There are faint damp stains in top corners, marginal soiling, and professional repairs to short centerfold separations at top and bottom and to a short tear in top blank margin.
