This folding map was issued in Powell's “Exploration of the Colorado River of the West and Its Tributaries Explored in 1869, 1870, 1871, and 1872 ...” in 1875. It show the embarkation point of Powell’s expedition at Green River, Wyoming and extends south to the confluence of the Green River and White River in Utah. The map shows excellent detail of topography via contour lines, the river systems, and the path of the Union Pacific Railroad in southwestern Wyoming. Drawn on a scale of 4 miles per inch.

A clean and bright example, issued folding, that is now flattened and backed with tissue. Faint toning along two folds.
