This is an uncommon map covering central and northern Asia. Korea is shown as an island and a huge Terre de Iesso is depicted across a narrow straight from the legendary lands of Gog and Magog. The Caspian Sea is given a horizontal, oval shape. The map is fully engraved with mountains, rivers, lakes, forests, cities, the Great Wall of China and embellished with a decorative title cartouche.

References: Pastoureau, SANSON V A [11].

Condition: B+

Original outline color on watermarked paper with narrow, but adequate, side margins. A few short edge tears that just enter the left border have been repaired on verso with old paper. Light scattered foxing is confined to the bottom blank margin.
