An appealing world map presented on Mercator's projection with the island of California. Australia is only partially delineated, and it shown attached to New Guinea. The coastline of Korea extends east towards North America. Sea routes from France to the New World, the East Indies, and to circumnavigate the world are shown. Decorated with three attractive cartouches, including one that is decorated with national flags and navigation tools. Engraved by C. Inselin.

A nice impression on watermarked paper with a printer's crease adjacent to Greenland and very minor soiling. There are three short tears confined to the blank margins that have been archivally repaired.
