This lot includes the first dozen volumes of the Hakluyt Society's third series (which is still underway), with the exception of Volume X, The Central Australian Expedition 1844-1846 / The Journals of Charles Sturt. The Hakluyt Society is an organization founded in 1846 to publish primary narratives of various expeditions. All are hardbound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles on the spines and gilt ships on the covers, with protective dust jackets.
