This extraordinary facsimile atlas is a faithful copy of Ortelius's epochal work, the first modern atlas. It includes all 53 of the maps in the first edition, in old-style color with Latin text on the versos. All of the double page maps are tipped in and pasted to binding strips. Hardbound in red cloth boards with red leather spine, gilt titles on spine and covers.

Contents very good with minor creases at the edge of some pages and a light damp stain along the sheets' edges that does not appear on the pages themselves. Covers good with light wear and sunning along the spine.
