This map was created to show the areas in India and Bangladesh where chaplain Edward Terry resided from 1616-19. Terry was appointed chaplain at the moghul's court in 1616 on behalf of the London East India Company, and wrote of his experiences in India upon his return to England. The map shows a number of towns and rivers, including the mythical Chiamaeus Lacus with four rivers flowing south. The title cartouche features several galleons engaged in battle. This map was published in van der Aa's compilation of early voyages of exploration.

A nice impression with attractive color on watermarked paper with wide margins and light offsetting.
