This handsome map focuses on the eastern areas of the Roman Empire in the present-day Balkans and Turkey. Provinces, towns and cities, rivers, and some topographical detail are shown. Nearly all of the Black Sea appears. Regions outside of Roman control are left largely unengraved.

Condition: A

Full original color on watermarked paper. There are a couple of worm holes, a stain at left, and several archivally repaired tears all confined to the blank margins.
