These two maps combined together show Dr. Barth's route from Trabzon, a coastal town on the Blank Sea, to Sogut (south of Istanbul). This journey took approximately a month and a half to complete. The map includes detailed insets of Kyr-Scher, Tokat, Amassia, Kara-Hissar and an overview of his entire journey through Turkey in the years 1847 and 1858. Published by Justus Perthes in Gotha.
