This handsome map focuses on the Byzantine Empire as it was during the reign of Emperor Constantine VII Porphyrogennetos. It covers present-day Balkans and Turkey and extends to include portions of Italy, Ukraine, and Russia. Provinces, towns and cities, rivers, and some topographical detail are shown. The Black Sea prominently appears.
A sharp impression with full original color with faint soiling. There are small chips and toning in the blank margins, far from image. The bluish shadow in the image is a result of the scanning process and is not on the map itself.
