This handsome map focuses on the Byzantine Empire as it was during the reign of Emperor Constantine VII Porphyrogennetos. It covers present-day Balkans and Turkey and extends to include portions of Italy, Ukraine, and Russia. Provinces, towns and cities, rivers, and some topographical detail are shown. The Black Sea prominently appears.

Condition: A

A sharp impression with full original color with faint soiling. There are small chips and toning in the blank margins, far from image. The bluish shadow in the image is a result of the scanning process and is not on the map itself.
