This tiny map focuses on the Greek island of Chios with its well fortified harbor. The map is oriented with north to the left and is embellished with two decorative cartouches, a sea monster, and a ship. The majority of the maps for Bertius' geographical treatise were engraved by Jodocus Hondius Jr. after Mercator. French text on verso.

A nice impression with attractive color, a hint of toning, a printer's crease, and light show-through of text on verso.
