This lot of copper engraved, Ogilby-style strip road maps includes coats-of-arms and descriptive text by John Owen. All three sheets come from the series The Road from London to Barwick... // Nottinghamshire. The first sheet, pages 13 and 14, starts in Hertfordshire (here called Harford Shire) and travels north to Cambridgeshire, then east to Northamptonshire and north again to Lincolnshire through Rutland. The second and third sheets, pages 17 through 20, cover from North Yorkshire through Durham and into Northumberland in the northernmost part of England. Size varies slightly.

Condition: B+

Nice impressions with minor soiling and small chips and/or binding holes along the left edges of the sheets. The first sheet has small edge tears at top and at top right that just enter into the map image.
