This handsome map depicts the central and western coastal regions of Mexico. This map of New Spain covers the Pacific coast from present-day Acapulco to about Mazatlan and inland to Mexico City, which is situated on a large lake. Several gold and silver mines are located in the central region. The map is beautifully embellished with three ornate strapwork cartouches, a sailing ship, and a sea monster. French text on verso, published between 1628-33.

Condition: A+

Superb impression and color on watermarked paper with wide, original margins. There is a short tear in left blank margin that has been archivally repaired.
