This fascinating facsimile of the complete George Humble edition of Speed's atlas (originally published in 1627) is from the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Series of Atlases in Facsimile Third Series - Volume VI. Speed's Prospect was the first general atlas to be produced in England. It features reproductions of all 22 maps from the first edition of the atlas as well as the maps and text added to the edition of 1676. The book also includes an interesting 11-page introduction by R.A. Skelton with illustrations. Hardbound in green buckram with gilt insignia on the front cover and title on the spine, with a dark green dust jacket.
