This is a very handsome and finely engraved map with minute political and topographical detail. The large title cartouche is resplendent in the French style with musicians, a dancer, and various accoutrements representative of the country. This early edition retains the 1751 date and privilege, which were removed from the cartouche in later editions.

References: Pedley #408.

Condition: B+

A crisp impression with original outline color on watermarked paper, a crease to the left of the title cartouche, a few tiny spots in the image, and marginal soiling. There is a damp stain and small chip in bottom blank margin, away from map image, and a short tear along the plate mark at bottom has been closed on verso with archival tape.
