Fabulous battle plan that shows the troop locations in the fields outside of the fortified city of Maastricht. This scene depicts a major battle in the War of the Spanish Succession. A large, elaborate cartouche contains another title, Plan of the Camp of the Army of the Allies, Commanded by Monsr. D'Auverquerque, and the Manner In Which It Was Drawn Up In Battle, When the Army of the Two Crowns Advanced to Attack It May 14th 1703. Engraved by James Basire.

Issued folding with narrow but adequate margins, faint scattered foxing, remnants of hinge tape on verso, and a short fold separation outside the neatline.
