This lovely map is based on one of the most famous 17th Century maps of the continent of Europe - Blaeu's Europa Recens Descripta. The map extends to include Iceland, the mythical island of Frisland, and the coast of Greenland. It is adorned with a decorative title cartouche, sailing ships, and a sea monster.

Condition: B+

A dark impression with some printer's ink residue, a small raised spot off the coast of Sweden, and faint show through of a previous owner's stamp on verso near Ireland.
