This engraving shows Mount Sinai (also known as Mount Horeb) with St. Catherine's Monastery at the foot of the mountains and Bedouin encampments surrounding it. Engraved by Karl Decker. This engraving was previously published in Oliver Dappert's Umbstandliche und Eigenliche Beschreibung von Asia published in 1681.

Condition: B+

Attractive color on watermarked paper with faint damp stains in top corners and archival repairs to a few small holes and tears in blank margins. Backed with Japanese tissue.
