This densely engraved map of Sicily features a legend identifying cities of various sizes, archbishoprics, bishoprics, abbeys, and castles. Mount Aetna is depicted with billowing smoke. An inset in the top left corner shows Sardinia with good detail. The map is adorned with a decorative cartouche featuring putti, a river god, and a female figure symbolizing the bounty of the region. Engraved by Michael Kauffer.

Condition: B+

Watermarked paper with light soiling and a couple of archivally repaired tears in bottom blank margin. Remnants of non-archival hinge tape on the verso at the top edge, well away from map.
