This large promotional map of the world was published for the Maestrani Chocolate company. The map is filled with the routes of numerous ocean liners, including the names of the companies operating the routes. The tracks of the White Star line (owner of the Titanic) are depicted as the most northerly routes sailed between Britain and the United States. This map was published roughly five to ten years before the Titanic’s sinking, as the map names Kongo Staat in Central Africa which later became the Belgian Congo in 1908. Printed by V. Brunn in Berlin.
Issued folding with light soiling in blank margins and some minor extraneous creases in the image. Backed with heavy paper, repairing two short tears at right and left that just touch neatline. Please note that the shadows along the folds are imperfections in the scanned image and not the physical map itself.
