This attractive map of the Eastern Balkans is centered on Bulgaria and includes the Bosphorus and Constantinople. The Danube and its tributaries flow across the map and are the focal point. It is adorned with a strapwork title cartouche and a unique block-style distance scale in the opposite corner.
Watermarked paper with wide, original margins, light toning along centerfold, and an extraneous horizontal crease with one tiny separation in map image at center. There are numerous tiny chips and tears along sheet edges, with one longer tear in bottom blank margin that has been archivally repaired.
