This is a Latin edition of Bucelin's Universal History published by Johann Gorlinus of Ulm. It is complete with 16 miniature maps of European regions derived primarily from Ortelius' Epitome. This edition includes the updated map of Germaniae Descriptio and the title page, designed by Arnold, featuring putti and a globe (maps measure approximately 4.1 x 2.4"). There are also numerous calendars and heraldic illustrations throughout the text. Original vellum binding and metal clasps with manuscript brown ink title on spine.

References: King (2nd ed.) pp. 122-124.

Condition: B+

Text and maps are good to very good with some minor soiling and foxing. The frontispiece and title page contain some small manuscript notations while the map of Italy has an edge tear that extends 1.5" into the image. Binding shows some minor wear but is tight.
