This fascinating engraving depicts the seventh day of the Battle of Jericho from the Biblical Book of Joshua. On the seventh day Joshua's Israelite army marched around the city seven times with seven priests carrying ram's horns (seen at bottom right by figure E). As the priests blew their horns and the army gave their war-cries, the walls of Jericho collapsed and the Israelites destroyed the city. Drawn by J. B. Martin and engraved by Lebas.
