A. Cercles de Longitude, by Allain Manesson Mallet, Description de l'Univers, circa 1683 (4.0 x 5.7"). A nice map of the Eastern Hemisphere that labels the continents and shows a partial outline for a southern continent. Australia is shown as connected to New Guinea. French text on verso. Reference: Pastoureau, Manesson-Mallet 1 A [17]. Condition: Minor show-through of text on verso. (A)

B. [Untitled - Eastern Hemisphere], by C. F. Volney, from Oeuvres Completes de Volney, circa 1821 (5.5 x 5.5"). This simple map of the Eastern hemisphere identifies major areas, rivers, and seas. A legend above the hemisphere locates 15 other important locations and major features. Condition: Light foxing. (B+)
