This detailed battlefield map shows the Wilderness area of Virginia, located west of Fredericksburg. The map has little detail with the exception of troop positions with the Union lines shown in blue and Rebel lines shown in red. The initial battle of the Wilderness on May 5-7, 1864, produced nearly 30,000 casualties without giving either side a clear victory.
