This lot of three geography books by Arnold Guyot include 68 maps, numerous woodcut illustrations in the text, pupil lessons, and statistical tables. Guyot was a professor of geography and geology at Princeton University, whose early work began with Louis Agassiz, a notable geologist and innovator of the study of natural history.

A. Guyot's New Intermediate Geography, published 1875. 106 pp. and 18 maps. Hardbound in blue pictorial boards with leather spine.

B. The Earth and Its Inhabitants. Common-School Geography, published 1871. 160 pp. and 26 maps. Hardbound in blue pictorial boards with leather spine. Condition: World map is loose but present.

C. Physical Geography, published 1885. 124 pp. and 24 maps. Hardbound in brown cloth boards with leather spine.

Condition: B

Text and maps are good with some toning, damp staining, a few minor spots and occasional soiling. There are some pencil notations in the text. Covers are bumped and worn and the spines have small cracks and chips.
