This detailed map of the Nile River Valley appeared in Edme Francois Jomard's Description de l'Egypte, which described the observations and explorations of the French army in Egypt. The map focuses on the extensive river systems in the area, with Cairo and numerous ruins also shown. Engraved by Blondeau.

Issued folding with light offsetting, damp stains, and a few spots. There are a few fold separations that have been closed with archival tape on verso, and the map has been trimmed to neatline at left, with minor loss of neatline towards bottom.
