This appealing map of ancient Sicily is based largely on Gastaldi and classical sources. Aetna and Isola Vulcano are shown erupting. The map is embellished with a galley ship, a sea monster and a garland draped title cartouche.

Issued folding, now flattened with minor foxing. The binding trim at upper left has been replaced to accommodate framing.
